This book has been a mainstay on my bookshelf since it was published (actually it rarely is on my bookshelf). I bought it then because I had pygmy goats--but this book is the first I grab with questions for any breed. One of the most helpful part is the vaccination schedule and standard dosing of medications for goats. I now have 4 breeds of dairy goats and it is still my first pick. If I can't have a vet in person this is the handiest back-up. I would appreciate a bit more clinical information on treatment but very helpful on diagnosis. Packed full of useful information for the beginner and the well experienced. There are days I wish I had two copies--one by the phone in the house and one in the barn. You won't regret this purchase. |
